Many people visit New York each day because there are so many great sights and places to visit. However, many people don’t consider all the ways of viewing the city, such as buses, walking and a New York helicopter tour. Any of these three options has their own benefits and disadvantages.
Walking
If you want to truly see the sights, you will want to walk. You may travel by taxi or other means to get to the sight, but you will then likely want to walk around and spend some time. Big sights, such as the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building just beg you to visit and spend the day. You will definitely go deep into the culture by walking around the city.
However, it is important to be extra careful as tourists seem to stand out on the streets of New York. You wouldn’t want to risk having your purse or wallet stolen, so taking extra precautions is important. It is also important to understand that you may not get to see everything you want if you have a short vacation planned.
Buses
Many bus tours are available in New York that will take you just about everywhere you want. You can also consider ferries and other options, as well. If you have little children with you or have difficulty moving about, the bus could be a great option.
Many bus tours have options that allow you to exit the bus whenever you want to see a particular sight. Then you can get on another bus from the same route and continue on. This is a great way to see the city, but can be slightly limited. If you don’t want to get off the bus, you likely won’t have a very good view of the sights, except from a small window. You may also get stuck in traffic, causing your sight-seeing to be delayed.
Helicopter Tour
Another option is the helicopter tour. You will sail high above the city and be able to look down upon everything New York has to offer. There are many tour options available, so that you can view the sights you prefer, such as the Statue of Liberty or Central Park. This is definitely a unique option for most and can be the highlight of your trip, though you can’t get off to see specific sights.
